Discover Norway’s unique culture and outdoor way of life on this action-packed four-day Pre-Progamme.
  • Be immersed in Norway’s breathtaking nature as you explore from Tromsø to the dramatic Lyngen area.

  • Soak up soul-stirring views and look out for the Northern Lights as you stay at the unique Aurora Fjords Cabins.

  • Delve into Sámi culture, try dog sledding in the snowy wilderness, and relax in Arctic tranquility on a floating experience.

Day 1: Arrival in Tromsø

After arriving at your hotel in Tromsø, take some time to settle in and explore at your leisure. In the evening, you’ll enjoy a special dinner at the Full Steam restaurant. A celebration of Norway’s renowned seafarers, here you’ll dine on delectable, locally sourced seafood or meat dishes, while learning more about the lives of the country’s sailors, as well as its maritime and fisheries history.

Day 2: Arctic Ocean floating and arrival at Aurora Fjords Cabins

After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll begin our scenic drive towards the Lyngen area with its soaring peaks and blue-hued glaciers.

En route, we’ll stop in breathtaking Ramfjord for an unforgettable Arctic floating experience. With an immersion suit to keep you warm and buoyant, you’ll slip into the crisp Arctic Ocean, gently floating in perfect tranquility. Afterwards, you’ll warm up by a crackling campfire and enjoy some light refreshments. You’ll also receive a certificate as a memento.

Continuing to Lyngen, we’ll arrive at the Aurora Fjord Cabins – your base for the next two nights. Set on the banks of the fjord with floor-to-ceiling windows, these mini cabins offer the ultimate escape in serenity and spectacular views.

Your day ends with a private dinner at the Aurora Spirit Distillery.

Day 3: Dog sledding and Sámi cultural experience

Today, you’ll explore the dramatic landscape of the Lyngen area by dog sled. During this 4.5-hour adventure, you’ll take the reins and drive your own dog team, gliding across the snow-dusted landscape surrounded by soul-stirring views of the Lyngen Alps. You’ll enjoy a scenic rest stop during your journey, warming up with snacks by an open fire.

In the evening, you’re invited to a unique Sámi storytelling and cultural experience. In a traditional lavvu, or Sámi tent, you’ll gather around the open fire to hear stories about the way of life of the Indigenous Sámi people, their beliefs and history. Then sledding through the Arctic forest, you’ll look out for the dancing Northern Lights as your guide shares how the magical aurora features in Sámi culture and mythology. Dinner will be served before returning to your hotel.

Day 4: Tromsø and the end of your Pre-Programme

After breakfast, we’ll begin our return drive to Tromsø. When we arrive, you’ll take the Fjellheisen cable car to Storsteinen, some 1,380 ft above sea level. Here you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch and soak up the panoramic views across Tromsø.

You’ll then be transferred to the port where your ship awaits, ready to begin your expedition cruise.

Please note that the order of sites may vary.
