Parrot Preservation
En route to the Echo Conservation Center for Parrots, you’ll enjoy a scenic drive with vistas of Kralendijk, Klein Bonaire island, and the solar salt mountains.
At the center, you’ll learn about the conservation of the yellow-shouldered Amazon parrot, known locally as the lora parrot, and you’ll get to meet some of the rescued birds. Your guide will then accompany you along the forest trail, where you can try to spot one of the colorful birds in their natural habitat.
Practical information
Included: One bottle of water per person.
Remarks/requirements: Please dress according to the weather. Sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and insect repellent are recommended. Hiking footwear is essential. Guests must be over 12 years old. The scenic drive is approximately 1 hour 40 minutes long
Walking or Activity information: Involves a high level of physical activity for an extended period over terrain that may often be uneven, slippery, and steep. You are expected to carry your own backpack and equipment. Not suitable for guests with limited mobility. The approximate walking time to the conservation center is 1.5 hours.
